Holistic health care for your entire family
Holistic health care for your entire family
Thiensville Family Health Care employs the model of Holistic Family Practice. This is an integration of traditional Western medicine, including diagnostic procedures, with those complementary therapies that have valid scientific research. The patient- physician relationship is viewed as a partnership in which the patient assumes joint responsibility in his or her healthcare. The physician provides the patient with the relevant treatment options for his/her particular medical condition and the patient is able to make an informed choice for treatment. The physician thus will guide and monitor the treatment process.
In addition to his holistic medicine approach, Dr. Lewis chooses to practice as an independent physician because he values the personal relationship between doctor and patient. In this day and age of large physician groups, impersonal clinics and specialized medicine, the personalized care delivered by Dr. Lewis to your entire family is rare to find.
Dr. Gary Lewis is board certified in Family Medicine and has been in practice for more than two decades. He is well-known in the greater Milwaukee region as one of the pioneers of complementary medicine in the community. A native of South Africa, he trained as a physician there and the United States. While in Medical school he trained in naturopathy, applied kinesiology, orthopedic medicine and techniques of osteopathic medicine. He also studied medical acupuncture at the renowned Helms Medical Institute at UCLA and Stanford University where he graduated in 2002. He has incorporated medical acupuncture into his practice since 2003 for a wide variety of medical conditions.
